Krell
Krell is a powerful illegal stimulant, derived from the poisonous slime of the Cyanide Slug. The drug is highly valued for its long lasting euphoric, concentration focusing effects and its lack of virtually any adverse side or after effects. It is known as the "wonder drug" by most who use it and is particularly popular with students and musicians. Illegal purchases of Krell are said to account for up to 20% of all tourism to Gunbridge Bells.
The drug hit the streets sometime in 2001 and was initially championed locally by The Subterranean newspaper, who praised it's productivity benefits regularly, until the drug was made illegal in 2005. The name "Krell" is derived from the 1950s sci fi film classic, Forbidden Planet, which involved an alien race called The Krell who had physically abandoned their planet and stored their minds in machines. The name was coined by Subterranean Assistant Editor, Erika Glover, shortly after the drug first appeared.
Unlike Seraphim, a legal drug which is manufactured and sold by the Ratters, Krell production and distribution is under the control of the Underworld crime syndicate. There is no substantiated information available on it's production.
