Pantiles Market
The oldest section of Gunbridge Bells, formerly known as "The Pantiles" and before that, "The Walks" and "The Parade". In the seventeenth century, royalty and gentry would visit the town to escape the rat race of London life and visit the many famous brothels of the Pantiles area.
Today this short strip of promenade is a thriving marketplace of 50 shops and over 100 street merchants and performers. Here you can buy anything from fresh vegetables to exotic fetish wear to local rat, slug and insect products. The street is alive with theatre, jugglers, mime artists and clowns. It is consistently the most crowded and popular area of G-Bells "above". On a weekend the Market will routinely attract in excess of 40,000 visitors. It is often referred to as "The Pants" by locals.
