Sherwood Depths District

A tunnel district, roughly north of St James Passage. The Depths consist of a confusing maze of small tunnels, unusual in that no main public tunnels cross the entire district. For this reason the only commercial establishments in the Depths are along St James Passage, which marks the boundary of the district. Apart from this handful of shops, the only other commerce is the illegal sale of drugs and sex. Most sane people avoid the area unless they are seeking the aforementioned.

The Depths are mainly inhabited by by the more unsavoury element of local society, i.e. transients, drug addicts, drug dealers, petty criminals and sexual deviants. Most of the residents live in small caves cut into the walls of the tunnels, or in tunnels themselves that have been crudely cordoned off for this purpose. Territorial dispute and resulting violence is rife.

Sanitation in Sherwood Depths is abysmal and it is not even understood quite how this is accomplished. There is no known (town supplied) source of clean running water and no sewage drainage system.
